    Vegan tea sandwiches for National Sandwich Day and Vegan Month

    The world has changed since the days the Duchess of Bedford started inviting her friends to her private chamber to have tea and sandwiches.  People are both more health conscious and more socially aware.  In the past tea sandwiches were loaded with butter, mayonnaise, and eggs, not to mention the fatty chopped meats such as potted beef.

    Today many people want to avoid too much fat in their diets, or at least too much saturated fat. Those who practice veganism want to avoid any animal products at all. It makes a great deal of sense when you realize how even cows and chickens who aren't killed for food are treated by the ranching industry. It's enough to make a person never go near a cheeseburger again when you think about the facts.

    The tea sandwiches in these recipes are delicious and have good fat rather than saturated fat. They are animal product free as well as healthy. You vegan friends will love them, but your non vegan friends with love them, too, because they taste so good.
